Choose a double cylinder deadbolt when you need enhanced security and greater control over door access, especially for exterior doors with nearby glass panels or sidelights.

Unlike a single cylinder deadbolt, which uses a thumbturn on the interior, or a patio deadbolt, which is typically operated from the inside, a double cylinder deadbolt requires a key on both the exterior and interior. This added layer of protection helps prevent unauthorized entry through broken glass or reach-through attempts.

It’s a dependable, high-security option—providing increased protection and peace of mind where added security is a priority.

Keying Information

If you want your new hardware to work with your existing key, you must match two things:

1. Key cylinder type
   Key cylinder types are not interchangeable. For example, a Schlage C key will not work in a Weiser WR5 cylinder.
2. Key code
   Even if the cylinder type matches, the key code must also match for the key to work.

If you are unsure of your key type or code, we recommend taking your key to a locksmith or key copy center for identification.

Keying Options

• Keyed Alike – All sets ordered together will operate with the same key.
• Keyed Different – Each set ordered together will operate with its own unique key.
